Manos de Mujer translates to "Women's Hands," recognizing the indigenous women who cultivate and steward these farms throughout Huehuetenango. Following decades of civil conflict and migration, many women became the primary caretakers of both their families and their land. Today, the designation celebrates their craftsmanship, resilience, and contribution to their communities. Only about 22% of ACODIHUE's annual production qualifies as Café con Manos de Mujer, making it a carefully selected expression of the cooperative's work.
Founded in 1996, ACODIHUE brings together smallholder producers to improve quality, strengthen market access, and create long-term economic opportunity. The cooperative also invests in youth education, agronomic training, and programs that encourage the next generation to continue farming while preserving the region's coffee-growing traditions.
At Wesley's, we believe exceptional ingredients deserve more than a tasting note. Every cup is an opportunity to celebrate the people whose dedication, knowledge, and care make remarkable coffee possible.
